ADVENTURES & INDULGENCES
Off the beaten track
"Nothing can happen to any man that nature has not fitted him to endure" Marcus Aurelius
One cannot deny that Egypt still offers some of the best value diving for UK divers. The coral is spectacular still and I saw my first Dugong! Two years I've waited for that sight and oh, was it worth it! Spent two days chasing sharks and were rewarded by a group of hammerheads swimming below us at around 50m. This was a recreational trip so we couldn't head down that far, but the visibility was just stunning. Heading back to the reef we saw a lone reef shark checking out the coral and of course, 10 mins after I got out of the water and took my kit off, the Oceanics arrived. Such beautiful creatures but rather shy. They are always just out of sight for me, or wait until I get out of the water.
Perhaps I need to change my aftershave! The Blue Seas provided us with excellent food and service and really made the trip. We also had a couple of very friendly Napolian Wrasse who kept us company over by the Brothers.
The Thistlegorm as always, providing a most rewarding dive.
